Pastor Dr. Irene Choon Honored with Malaysia Influential Educator’s Top 15 Award: Praise Music International recognised as Top Piano Academy

Malaysia Influential Educators (MIE), in collaboration with Majlis Tindakan Pengguna Malaysia, has bestowed the prestigious Golden Award upon Pastor Dr. Irene Choon on March 30, 2024. This honor follows an extensive and rigorous three-year selection process to identify the top 15 candidates nationwide, underscoring the exceptional caliber and dedication required to achieve this esteemed recognition.

Founder - Pastor Dr. Irene Choon

Pastor Irene, Chief Ministry Director for PMI since it's inception in 1990, has creatively designed the TOUCH System to suit everyone’s needs. Over the years, she has trained more than 5000 students and many more have been coming to her school every year, including those from Singapore, Australia, Sarawak, Ipoh, Klang Valley and various parts of Sabah. To cope with the high demand in the last few years, Irene has personally groomed a team of full-time trainers to meet the needs of her growing number of students. The PMI headquarters is in Kota Kinabalu, and we currently have 12 different centres all over Malaysia and Australia, all with the same vision to empower and train pianists.
Nascent with a godly passion, she crafted out a unique Intensive Church Pianist Course in 1990. Irene earnestly trains pianists who will serve in the church and is the author of 12 piano modules and 8 Theory Books and a few song books over the last 30 years.
