Founder - Pastor Irene Choon
Pastor Irene, Chief Ministry Director for PMI since it's inception in 1990, has creatively designed the TOUCH System to suit everyone’s needs. Over the years, she has trained more than 5000 students and many more have been coming to her school every year, including those from Singapore, Australia, Sarawak, Ipoh, Klang Valley and various parts of Sabah. To cope with the high demand in the last few years, Irene has personally groomed a team of full-time trainers to meet the needs of her growing number of students. The PMI headquarters is in Kota Kinabalu, and we currently have 12 different centres all over Malaysia and Australia, all with the same vision to empower and train pianists.
Nascent with a godly passion, she crafted out a unique Intensive Church Pianist Course in 1990. Irene earnestly trains pianists who will serve in the church and is the author of 12 piano modules and 8 Theory Books and a few song books over the last 30 years.

Despite coming from a non-musical background. The PMI course provides the basic building blocks and foundation to learn piano in a progressive and systematic manner. We have our daily schedule with specific items to practice. This is complemented and reinforced by the seminars held once in 3 months and the monthly meet up with group members for assessments. It is a comprehensive course.
I am now equipped with the basic skills to play the piano, thus fulfilling my greatest hope and desire to worship God through music.

I’m glad I signed up for the course! Through this course, I learnt that for chord playing, one song can be played using many different styles and rhythms unlike classical playing which is very rigid.
